Kalium Mineração will have an annual production, in this first phase, of the order of:

7,580 tons of potassium sulphate;

3,825 tons of iron oxide;

6,990 tons of aluminum oxide;

9,913 tonnes of magnesium sulphate;

32,000 tons of potassium feldspar.

Ores markets by product:

Potassium Sulphate:

It is one of the vital fertilizers for agriculture. Brazil imports 92% of its needs, representing an annual trade deficit of more than 2.5 billion dollars. Only one mine in Sergipe is currently in operation. Brazil is the world's second largest importer of potash, behind only China. The annual consumption of potassium salts in Brazil is in the range of 9 million tons per year. Kalium Mineração S.A in its process will have a production of about 7,500 tpy of K2SO4, from an ore containing 10.6% of K2O.

Magnesium Sulphate:

Magnesium sulfate is applied in cosmetics, in the production of paper, fireproof materials, ceramics, refractories, manufacture of textile products, detergents, process catalysts, dietary supplement and laxative for animals and medicine. It is also used in agriculture and gardening. It is applied in the solutions for cultivation by hydroponics very widespread nowadays. Kalium Mineração S.A in its process will produce about 10,000 tpa of MgSO4.7H2O from an ore containing 3% MgO.

Iron oxide:

High purity iron oxide is used as pigments, adsorbents, abrasives, glass industry and ferrites, in sandblasting instead of sand, with the advantage of not causing silicosis and mortars. The iron oxide pigments normally found in shades of yellow, ocher and red have strong metallic chemical bonding and are extremely resistant to light. Kalium Mineração S.A in its process will produce about 4,000 tpy of Fe2O3, from an ore containing 7% of the same oxide.

Aluminum Oxide:

The alumina, or aluminum oxide, is the item of greater cost in the production of aluminum. The world production of almost 100 million tons is made mainly with bauxite using the Bayer process. Other industrial applications include abrasives, refractory materials, additives in plastics and support of industrial catalysts. The Alumina produced by the Kalium process represents a great environmental advance when compared to the material produced by the bauxite chemical attack. Kalium Mineração S.A in its process will produce about 7,000 tpy of Al2O3, from an ore containing 16% of this oxide.

Potassium Feldspar:

Due to the presence of alkaline compounds insoluble in water, they are the most used fluxes in the formulations of ceramic products. Alkaline feldspars are particularly useful in ceramic materials as they act as fluxes in formulations for porcelains and coatings in a concentration ranging from 10 to 50%. Feldspars are also used as fluxes in glazes and glass industries and also serve as a source of Al2O3 and alkali oxides. Kalium Mineração S.A in its process about 32,000 tpa of Potassium Feldspar with 75% of SiO2.

Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4):

It is a strong mineral acid soluble in water at any concentration. Sulfuric acid will be used in the opening step of Glauconite through a digestion step. Kalium will produce its own acid through the reuse of the gases of the stage of thermal decomposition, complementing its needs with the burning of Sulfur.
